Terms of Service

Effective April 24, 2026

By using Harven, you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose. If something is unclear, email hello@harven.app and we will explain.

Who runs Harven

Harven is operated as a sole proprietorship doing business as Harven. Contact: hello@harven.app. Service is provided to people 13 and older.

The service

Harven helps you plan a garden, log harvests, and calculate dollar savings against grocery prices. Free tier covers basic use; paid tiers (Founding $3 a month, Pro $7 a month) unlock additional features described on the pricing page.

Your account and data

Subscriptions and billing

The Harven Promise

If you grow with Harven Pro for a full season and do not feel it paid for itself in food, email hello@harven.app with your harvest log and we will refund the months you paid. We only win when your garden does.

Acceptable use

Do not:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service. We will refund unused paid time when we end an account for our own convenience and not for a clear violation.

Content and plant data

Harven includes a plant library, grocery price reference data, and educational articles. We work hard to keep this accurate (we cite USDA, BLS, UC Cooperative Extension, and peer-reviewed studies wherever possible), but it is not professional horticultural, nutritional, or financial advice. Use your own judgment, especially for edibility, allergies, and pest treatments.

Intellectual property

The Harven name, logo, code, copy, plant library, and pricing data are owned by us and may not be copied or redistributed without permission. You retain full ownership of any data you create inside the app. By submitting feedback or feature suggestions to us, you grant us a license to use them without compensation.

Service availability

Harven is offline-first; the app is designed to keep working without an internet connection. We still aim for high uptime on the parts that need our servers (subscription verification, weather, billing). We do not promise specific uptime numbers, but we monitor outages and will work to restore service quickly.

Disclaimers

Harven is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee specific savings, yields, or harvest outcomes. Weather data, grocery prices, and companion planting recommendations are estimates based on public sources and may be inaccurate or out of date.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Harven and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the change is material we will email paid subscribers and post a notice on harven.app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. We will try to resolve any dispute with you informally first — email hello@harven.app. If that does not work, claims may be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
